Karmic Implications
22. Karmic Implications: Action and Reaction
"What I eat today, I pay for tomorrow." The law of Karma is as precise as any physical law of science.
Scriptural Truth
Bhagavatam 11.5.14: "Those who are ignorant of real dharma and, though wicked and haughty, consider themselves virtuous, kill animals without any feeling of remorse... such sinful persons are eaten by the same animals in their next birth."
Moral Principle
Every action creates a reaction. If we support a system of pain, fear, and death, we are subtly inviting that same energy back into our own lives. Compassion breadths peace; violence breeds suffering.
Logical Reason
If we believe in a just universe, it is impossible for us to achieve ultimate happiness and peace while being the cause of misery for others. The "vibration" of our food becomes the vibration of our destiny.
Psychology
The subtle feeling of "guilt" or "unease" many meat-eaters feel is often a nudge from the soul, warning against the karmic weight of their choices.
